The story

The first season after Cristiano Ronaldo left for Real, and Wayne Rooney took the weight on his shoulders: 34 goals in all competitions. Ferguson's United won the League Cup 2-1 against Aston Villa at Wembley and lost the title to Chelsea by a single point. It was also AIG's last season on the club's shirts.

The design itself is restrained: deep red, a black chevron across the chest with a white swoosh, and AIG in large letters below. Nike kept it simple, the crest and the sponsor do all the work. A retro football shirt that holds its own without a single unnecessary detail. In the frame of the AIG print, by the letter A, the print is slightly cracked, shown in the photo. Product code on the label: 355091-623.
